Biodiesel household
Biodiesel household is fuel produced from vegetable oils or grease through the process takes molecules to small in the form Ethyl Esters or Methyl Esters, which features very close to diesel. Renewable diesel can be used directly.
Chemical reaction
Vegetable oil + Methanol or Ethanol ------> Methyl Esters or Ethyl Esters + Glycerin
How to produce biodiesel (Bio diesel) from waste vegetable oil (used cooking oil).
Substrate
1. Palm oil
2. KOH or NaOH 1% (g: ml)
3. Methanol or Ethanol 25%
Procedure
1. Amount of palm oil
2. Weight KOH 1% by weight per volume of oil (g/ml).
3. Measure methanol of 25% of vegetable oil and then mixed with KOH.
4. Heated oil at temperature of 45-55°C around 20 minutes to 1 hour depending on volume.
5. Pour KOH and methanol to heated vegetable oil.
6. Lift ingredients out of the oven and leave on the floor then Methyl Esters and Ethyl Esters will be separate.
7. Separate upper biodiesel (Methyl Ester) from Glycerin . To avoid the occurrence of soap reaction by fill up HCI into the same mole ratio and then flush to remove alcohol and KOH.
8. Use also as fuel or mixed with diesel oil in pickup , agricultural engines and Motor boat as well.
