Solar Tower

Project Background
EnviroMission since 2001, suggested that a Solar Tower Solar Chimney power plant as near Buronga Buronga, New South Wales building known. Technical details of the project is difficult to obtain it and the current status of the project is uncertain. March 18, 2007, the company announced a merger with the Board of the U.S. company Solar Mission Technologies, Inc, but the relationship was on 1 completed November 2007.
Description

Sun's radiation is used to store large amounts of air under a large area of heat collector, which then rises to the laws of physics (hot air) is forced to move the hot air through large turbines to produce electricity. Solar-tower power to create conditions conducive to hot wind that continuously through the 32 x 6.25MW instead of pressure-flow turbines to generate electricity.
Prototype in Spain
Solar Tower technology has been successfully tested and built with small pilot plant in good Manzanares, Spain. This pilot project is a collaboration between the Spanish government and the German designers, Schlaich Berger und Partner.
Plant operated for seven years from 1982 to 1989, and consistently generated 50kW output of green energy. Pilot finally proved the concept works and the data for design changes to the final objective of enhanced trade and economic benefits of large-scale economy.
